Chelsea Sepakat Lepas Sturridge ke Anfield

Chelsea dikabarkan sudah bersedia melepas penyerang Daniel Sturridge untuk bergabung dengan Liverpool. Bandrol sebesar 12 juta poundsterling kabarnya sudah disepakati pihak The Blues.

Hal itu seperti dilansir London Evening Standard. Diberitakan bahwa hasil dari penjualan Sturridge akan diinvestasikan untuk belanja pemain pada bursa transfer Januari mendatang.

Akan tetapi, kesepakatan tersebut baru akan terjadi setelah klub milik Roman Abramovich sudah menemukan pengganti Sturridge. Pasalnya, Chelsea hanya akan memiliki Fernando Torres di lini depan, seandainya mereka melepas Sturridge.

Sementara itu, manajer Liverpool Brendan Rodgers memang diketahui menjadi penggemar Sturridge sejak awal musim ini. Bahkan pemain 23 tahun itu sudah hampir menuju Anfield, sebelum akhirnya tertunda akibat ketidakcocokan nilai gaji.

Hingga kabar ini diturunkan, belum ada konfirmasi resmi dari kedua klub. Namun jika terealisasi, maka hal itu akan sangat berarti bagi The Reds, yang hingga saat ini masih kekurangan stok di lini depan

The Guardian is one of a number of papers to have a “Big Interview” with Paul Scholes. “The list of those who have since described Scholes as the best footballer in England includes, among others, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Marcello Lippi and Edgar Davids. Sir Alex Ferguson will face Jose Mourinho in the Champions League last 16 after Manchester United were drawn against Real Madrid.

The game will also pitch Cristiano Ronaldo against his former club for the first time since he left in a world record £80million deal in 2009.

Arsenal dodged Barcelona but have been handed a tough draw against last season's runners up Bayern Munich.

And Scottish champions Celtic, who beat Barca earlier the competition, were drawn against Italian side Juventus, who topped Chelsea's group.

Barcelona's match-up with AC Milan is the pick of the rest of the ties, which will kick off in February.

Turkish side Galatasaray were drawn against Arsenal's group winners, Schalke, while German champions Borussia Dortmund, who topped Manchester City's group, will face Shakhtar.

Porto, who won the Champions League under Mourinho in 2004, will play Malaga, while Carlo Ancelotti's Paris St Germain take on Valencia.

Mantan pemain Liverpool Jamie Redknapp menilai pertemuan Manchester United kontra Real Madrid di Liga Champions lebih dari sekadar pertemuan biasa. Akan ada banyak hal non-pertandingan yang akan jadi perhatian nantinya.

Salah satu yang dilihat Redknapp adalah bahwa laga ini bisa menjadi audisi bagi Jose Mourinho untuk menggantikan Sir Alex Ferguson. Tentu yang akan memberikan pantas atau tidaknya hal itu adalah Fergie sendiri.

"Saya yakin pertemuan ini akan menjadi audisi bagi Mourinho untuk menjadi pelatih United. Jika dia bisa membuat Sir Alex terkesan, maka Mou akan menjadi kandidat terkuat," ujar Redknapp kepada Sky Sports.

Menurut eks pemain timnas Inggris ini, Mourinho punya kesempatan besar untuk melakukannya. Ia didukung oleh skuad yang hebat serta pengalaman yang cukup melimpah di Liga Champions.

Di sisi lain, Redknapp menganggap Cristiano Ronaldo sebagai ancaman terbesar bagi United. Namun ia tak ragu publik Old Trafford akan menyambutnya dengan tangan terbuka saat bertanding nanti.

Berita mengenai rivalitas Cristiano Ronaldo dan Lionel Messi memang tidak pernah ada habisnya. Bahkan pelatih Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson ikut memberikan komentar.

City Siapkan £134 Juta Untuk Ronaldo-Coentrao ?

Manchester City dikabarkan sudah menyiapkan dana sebesar 134 juta poundsterling untuk mega-transfer duo Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo dan Fabio Coentrao. Kabar tersebut muncul setelah pemilik The Citizens, Sheikh Mansour berulang kali menyatakan ketertarikan pada kedua pemain. Mansour tampak tidak peduli dengan harga yang ditawarkan Los Blancos atas para bintangnya.

O Jogo melaporkan, kedua pemain asal Portugal tersebut saat ini tengah menjadi tumpuan di skuad utama Real Madrid. Akan tetapi belum jelasnya masa depan pelatih Jose Mourinho bisa menyebabkan hengkangnya kedua pemain.

City tampaknya sedang berupaya memanfaatkan kesempatan tersebut. Salah satunya adalah mempersiapkan dana besar, sebagai persiapan seandainya kedua pemain siap hengkang dari Santiago Bernabeu.

Manajer Glasgow Celtic, Neil Lennon, menyambut gembira hasil undian babak 16 besar Liga Champions. Dalam drawing yang digelar di Nyon, Swiss, Kamis (20/12/2012) petang WIB, The Bhoys akan bersua dengan jawara Italia, Juventus.

Celtics lolos ke fase knock-out 16 besar dengan status sebagai runner up Grup G. Hal ini membuat The Bhoys menempati pot kedua dalam babak undian dan harus bersua salah satu tim berpredikat juara grup.

Juve yang menjadi juara Grup E dengan mengeliminasi Chelsea dan mengalahkan Shakhtar Donetsk, terpilih sebagai lawan Celtic di babak selanjutnya.

Menghadapi Juve, Celtic mengaku tak keberatan. Lennon mengaku justru girang bisa menghadapi tim yang memiliki kultur kental dalam sepak bola Eropa.

“Kami akan menyambut kedatangan mereka. Kami menantikan pertandingannya sekarang dan saya yakin suporter kami juga. Kami yakin dalam dua laga terakhir segalanya mungkin. Juventus tim bertabur bintang kelas dunia dan terbukti konsisten selama 18 bulan terakhir. Mereka memiliki mental juara, begitu juga kami,” imbuhnya.

Celtic memiliki rekor fantastis dalam laga kandangnya di Liga Champions. The Bhoys hanya menelan dua kali kekalahan dalam 23 laga yang dilakoni di Parkhead, markas mereka. Musim ini, Celtic bakal memberi kejutan dengan menghentikan rekor tak terkalahkan Barcelona 2-1, beberapa waktu lalu.

Keuntungan bagi Celtic karena saat menghadapi Juve mereka akan mendapat jatah tandang lebih dulu. Leg pertama akan digelar di Turin pada 12/13 atau 19/20 Februari. Sedang leg kedua digelar di markas Celtic pada 5/6 atau 12/13 Maret.
